Cross Guard Ministries is an idea that the Lord placed on my heart a long time ago, and after prayerfully seeking, I believe He has led me here. The reason I call it “Cross Guard Ministries” is based on Ephesians 6, where Paul writes concerning the armor of God. He describes the Christian as a soldier going into battle, wielding the Sword of the Word. A sword has three components: the blade, the hilt, and the crossguard. The blade allows for attack; the hilt allows you to wield it, but the crossguard is the more crucial component for two reasons.
Firstly, it allows you to wield the sword without your hand sliding up and cutting yourself on your own blade.
Secondly, it protects your fingers from the enemy’s blade if you are locked in combat.
There are a lot of believers out there wielding the Sword of the Word without their crossguard, and they are cutting themselves and getting their fingers chopped off in this spiritual battle. The point of this blog is to change that. To, by going verse by verse, chapter by chapter, book by book, edify the body of believers so they may become expert swordsmen and women in this war against the darkness.
